Podiatrist Tips
Ideas to get you back on your feet

1. Custom orthotic insoles will support your arch and help align your legs, hips and back - reducing strain on joints and ligaments.

2. Start out any exercise program easy. Walk just a few block each day then increase your distances when you feel comfortable.

3. For heel pain - avoid walking or running for exercise. Try non weight-bearing exercises such as swimming or cycling.

4. For heel pain - avoid flat shoes and bare feet. Athletic shoes or walking shoes are generally best.

5. Walk before you run. You may, in-fact, wish to avoid running altogether. Running can lead to injuries.

6. If you are suffering from any minor foot pain or discomfort try walking on soft surfaces like woodchips, or dirt.

7. Achilles Tendonitis can be treated by reducing or taking break from activities that caused it. Runners should stop running. Make sure you have good shoes with proper insoles.

8. Ankle sprain can be treated R.I.C.E. - Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.
